2024

Taye, once again, missed out on a Dakar participation due to being switched for another co-pilot last minute, by Saudi's Akeel. She continues fighting and working towards getting back to her roots racing on motorcycles, seeking out partners and sponsors to make the campaign back to Dakar a reality.

2023

Having committed to co-piloting at Dakar for a Czech team, Taye was dropped last minute, meaning no participation for the 2023 Dakar Rally. Soon after, she agreed to parter with, and began co-piloting for Saudi Arabia's leading female rally driver, Akeel, achieving multiple podiums and woman's team overall awards in the Can-Am SXS in the SSV class.

2022

Taye's 2022 began with a successful Dakar Rally co-piloting in the Peugeot 2008 DKR alongside former redbull driver & biker, Despres. With no hope of successfully campaigning for sponsors to return to bike racing any time soon, she continued to work as a co-pilot for up and coming drivers for the rest of the year.

2021

Taye's second Dakar Rally was in the Auto T1 category alongside Baragwanath in the Century Racing CR6, where they tied for first place with Nasser Al-Atttiya for Porlogue, and podiumed 2 stages, with a 2nd place behind Carlos Sainz as their best stage result. Their Dakar almost ground to a halt after a part failure during marathon stage, but they managed to overcome the loss and finish the full race.

Taye then got her chance to finally move from South Africa to Europe. After lockdowns left her and many at rock-bottom, she left in the direction she always intended, with hopes to rebuild and eventually pursue her true passions once again.

2020

2020 was set to be Taye's best year, after a strong finish at her first ever Dakar Rally in the Moto category, followed by a top 10 finish at the Sonora Rally in Mexico. Unfortunately, though, the Covid lockdowns put a solid pause to her motorcycling career's progress, forcing her to pivot in order to stay near the game--that's when she accepted the call to co-pilot for Baragwanath in a Century Racing CR6 where their successful teaming up put them on podiums at their first events.

2019

From beginning to end, 2019 was preparation and build-up to Taye's first Dakar Rally, it was also the biggest fund she and her family have ever had to finance. She kicked the year off by being the first South African woman to qualify for the Dakar Rally, coming 2nd to Laia Sans. Preparations continued, where she podiumed at Rallye du Maroc, continued to race locally in the Open class against the men, and then finished the year by placing 1st woman in a South African rally and then a 4 hour endurance race in the Democratic Republic of Congo, before heading off to Saudi Arabia for the Dakar Rally.

2010-2018

Taye took multiple club, and local championship titles during this period. She also did her very first rally in 2013, where she won the M1.1 class. She found her passion for long distance events in the fast desert racing of the Botswana Desert 1000km Race, that she excelled in. There was no looking back from here on.
